The Krista Redpath Podcast

Katie Faulkner’s journey from Coeur d’Alene standout and Lady Griz star to the 10th head coach in Pepperdine women’s basketball history is nothing short of inspiring. A former Big Sky MVP and professional player turned coach, Faulkner has built a decade-long résumé developing elite talent and guiding teams to NCAA Tournament runs. Now,  she brings her passion, leadership, and championship experience to the Waves.

From Billings standout to Lady Griz star to rising Division I coach, Jace Henderson’s journey is all about passion, resilience, and leadership.  Now in her first season as Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Utah, Jace shares her story of switching sports, inspiring teammates, and climbing the coaching ranks.

The debut episode of The Krista Redpath Show kicks off with a powerful conversation with Danny Sprinkle—former Helena High Bengal, Montana State Bobcat standout, and now head coach of the University of Washington men’s basketball program. With over 20 years of coaching experience across Cal State Northridge, Montana State, Cal State Fullerton, Utah State, and Washington, Sprinkle blends his Montana roots with a national coaching pedigree.
Krista and Danny reflect on growing up in Montana, the values of family and community, and the lasting influence of legendary coaches. Danny shares his journey from leading the Bobcats to a Big Sky Championship and Freshman of the Year honors, to building championship teams as a head coach.
The conversation also highlights a full-circle moment with his father Bill’s 2025 induction into the Montana Football Hall of Fame—tying Danny’s coaching passion back to his family legacy and the University of Washington.
Looking ahead, Danny offers candid insight into today’s evolving college basketball landscape, the impact of NIL and the transfer portal, and his belief in “UBUNTU”—that true success comes from collective achievement. It’s a fitting start to The Krista Redpath Show, setting the tone for a series dedicated to celebrating sports, community, and the people whose stories inspire both.
